About Us
The Patten Historical Society is dedicated to documenting and honoring the unique heritage of Patten, Maine. By collecting local artifacts, preserving ancestral stories, and celebrating the community's cultural milestones, the Society ensures that the town's rich history remains a living inspiration for future generations.

About Patten
Nestled at the gateway to the North Maine Woods, Patten is a community defined by its historic grit and enduring local pride. Since its founding in the early 1800s, the town has served as a vital hub for the lumber industry, drawing its strength from the vast natural resources of the surrounding wilderness. Today, that heritage is kept alive through the immersive exhibits at the Patten Lumbermen’s Museum and the annual Patten Pioneer Days festival, which invites visitors to experience the unique charm and character of this historic timber town.

Today, June 26, 2025, is our 2nd Anniversary date of receiving owner ship of the building, and successfully working toward our goal of saving and protecting the historical integrity of this much loved building. As we continue our work, I want to thank all those who have supported us through their time, talent, donations, and moral support. We are very much aware of who you are and you are very much appreciated. Without you, our job would be much harder.Thank you also to a wonderful, talented, and generous group of people I have the pleasure of being a part of. Look what you have done in two short years! You are critical thinkers, problem solvers, money managers, self motivated and goal oriented with a desire to succeed. But above all of that, you are very generous. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
