Death In A Bottle

                JAMAICA GINGER DID IT.
Two Deaths in Murphy's Lumbering Camp
from That Beverag
e.

Patten, Me. April 6.—The remains of
two men, - David Derry, formerly of
Presque Isle, and George. McDonald, were
brought to Patten, yesterday, from
Murphy’s camp. The authorities have so far
been unable to learn the residence of
McDonald.

It seems that, Sunday, the crew at the
camp were drinking excessively of Jamaica

ginger. It is reported that the two
dead men drank about 20 battles each.

Later when suffering from ‘the effects o
it, they attempted to take a mustard
emetic and in about two hours they. were
both dead after suffering the greatest
agony begging to be cut open

Several other men in the crew are sick
from the effects but are likely to recover.
The town authorities are in charge of the
remains and will forward to their friends,
if any can be found.
