Patten Sets Up Road Patrols
PATTEN Oct 28— Following the request of Governor Hildreth the local town office has made up a schedule to have all local roads patrolled nightly between the hours of 9 p m and 8 a m with two men taking three hours of duty each night The routes are.
Number 1: Sherman Road to the top of Chase hill back to the Happy Corner Road and over Carpenter Corner Road, the Frenchville Road to the Waters Road along the Waters road to the Carl McCourt’s residence then 'back to the Barleyvllle road and over that to the Shin Pond read back to headquarters at Nash As Ordway garage.
Number 2: The Aroostook Road to Hall Corner back to the Owsl-borough road over that to the Shin Pond Road then over the Shin Pond Road to the Crommett farm and back to headquarter over the Shin Pond Road.
Route 3: The Houlton Road to Crystal Brook Winding Hill road to the Aroostook road the Clark road to the Simpson farm and back to headquarters.
Route4: The Lovejoy Road and town dump potato houses and all back streets in town and road to McManus mill.
Those who have already signed up to patrol are Ray R Stevens, Robert Cunningham, Robert Smallwood, Kenneth Lord, Harold Bates, Reuben Chase, Robert Anderson, Hadley Coolong, George Gardner, Leon Kennedy, Ira Howes, John McCourt, Fred Curtis, Dr M D Brown, Hubert Nevers, Lawrence Beattie, Forman Smith, Herbert Hatt Jr Willis Phair, Lowell Barter, Leslie Dickinson, Ralph Pipes, Fred Quint, Ralph Miles, Darrell Hanson, Richard Thompson, Joseph McGillicuddy, Ellery Cole, Boyd Harrington Jr, Robert Adams, Frank Weeks John Rogers, Chester Bailey, Ira Myrick, Harley Asher, Gilbert Brown, Ira Hill, Fred Howard, Ernest Murray, Willard McIntyre, Firth Smallwood, Dudley Olsen, Clarence Rosignol, Ernest Tupper, Ernest White, Charles Giles, Thurman Willett, Joseph Harrington, Thomas Wilson, Lewis Bates Perley Harris, Merritt Everett, Arthur Crouse, Carl Court, Kenneth McCourt, J Hal J Patterson and Alfred McCafferty Others stand ready to volunteer if they are needed.
In addition to this list the following organization has been established in case there should be a fire.
